I loved this wedding! Seems like I say that about all of them, but Natalie, the bride, was truly amazing to work with! She knew exactly what she wanted, which really helped me when it came to designing her flowers. She knew she wanted rich, romantic and classic wedding decor, and combined with the added details including white fabric lined tents (provided by Big Island Tents), draping chandeliers, up lighting in whites and reds (provided by Hawaii Event Lighting), crystal details and an amazing cake (provided by Sweet Pi Bakery) I think her theme was established!

For this wedding I used all red toned roses as well as some peonies, anemones, gerbera daises and ranunculus for the bouquets.

In addition to assisting Natalie with her florals, I also provided wedding coordination for the event. Included was assistance in putting together an itinerary for the days events, confirming vendor commitments, double checking all the details, decisions and services that Natalie was contracted for, as well as conducting the rehearsal and directing the wedding day events.

Because I assisted Natalie with her wedding details, not just the florals, I feel like I was much more apart of the wedding and really got to know not just Natalie but her friends and family as well. And although I am a vendor, I felt like I was completely apart of the wedding celebration!

I am so happy for you both!

Although I have mainly been doing Wedding Florals, I think I just love throwing a good party. Although Events have been an aspect of my company, Weddings have been at the forefront however; I am hoping to branch out more to be able to plan more parties. . . oh they are so much fun!

My dear friend had her 3-ohhhhhh birthday and she has always wanted a fantastical "Wonderland" party. Oh my, what fun it was to scheme and conspire all the details that went into this event. I had so much help from not only the birthday gal herself, but also ruthannephotography and Lesli.

I love jewel tones in weddings! I used a lot of different rich colors in this wedding and it makes me think of a rich cinnamon smell on the wind of a beautiful fall day! There is something comforting yet amazingly elegant about these tones, and the Celedon Green dresses for the bridesmaids were the perfect complimentary match!

Jon + Mimi’s Wedding

This wedding has probably been the most important wedding I have done to date. Mimi has been one my closest friends for many years and I can’t believe I had the privilege to be a part of her special day.

I remember talking about her wedding years ago—well before she met her groom Jon—and conspiring and scheming up ideas for her flowers and décor. It was with awe that I got to witness her relationship blossom with Jon, and I knew in my heart from the moment she mentioned his name that this was the guy for her. I knew that we had already pretty much planned her wedding, but I take little credit for the amazing event it turned out to be. Mimi has always been so talented with color and design and she was the orchestrator behind all the details. In addition, this wedding would not have been possible without my elves, Ruthie, Liannimal and Katsie…without you three I would have been sunk!

Mimi, I miss you my dear friend but am so proud and happy that you have found love!

Ceremony and Reception location was at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa.The wedding colors were really fresh including pinks, greens and hints of cream. I used green Hydrangea, two different types of pink spray roses, fiddle-head fern to add interest and of course some lovely garden roses! I also used "Candy Bianca" a really nice colored pink rose that is soft and antique looking. I am hoping to get a photo of the bridesmaids bouquets to post soon, but I have added the brides bouquet shown above. We added the Phaelenopsis Orchids to an all rose bouquet, and since they are so delicate, they looked a bit like fluttering butterflies when the bride walked down the aisle...so cute!

This wedding was based on several different shades of blue...we used Cobalt, Teal and a soft blue to add more interest. Because there were 15 tables we decided to keep each centerpiece simple, but there was a lot of detail to each item, such as the ribbon embellishment, crystals and submerged flowers. I have to say, this one was pretty labor intensive just because we had a lot of different elements, but it turned out really nice and I hope it was everything Shelby was looking for...Congratulations Shelby! For this wedding, the bride wanted to match as closely as possible the flowers to her "Gauva" colored bridesmaids dresses. I have to say, it's never easy getting an exact match when you are doing a destination wedding unless the bride actually sends a swatch of the color she is looking for, and for this wedding I did not have a swatch. For me I got a bit stressed out wondering if my interpretation of Guava was veering more towards the Coral color, but I couldn't help but love how all the Roses, Anthuriums and even the ribbon I selected matched each other so well! For the roses I selected Big Fun and I have to say, they were stunning! Such a beautiful color and this rose opens up so big which is a really nice feature in a bouquet. For accents I added the Mojolika spray roses, which is my favorite,as well as soft baby pink spray roses, calla lilies and orchids.

After freaking out a little wondering whether I selected the right shade of Guava, I happened to see the flower girl walk by in her dress and the color matched perfectly! I could not have been more elated! The wedding was lovely and the flowers were a hit...ahhhhhh yay!

The Bride's bouquet was such a fun bouquet to make! Amanda expressed to me that she loves large bouquets, which I assured her was not a problem for me! If anything I am guilty of making them too big! But once I get going, it's hard to stop!

I loved the pink on pink for this wedding, and we decided to use the bouquets as centerpieces for the reception, which looked so lovely in the ballroom. I also used little clear glass milk jars with pink Ranunculus and Snap Dragons.

For the first time in a very long time I had the opportunity to make asymmetrical bouquets. It's not often that I get this request so I was a little intimidated at first, but I love the challenge! I think the reason they scare me is because I am always looking for a good form in my bouquets so when I am creating something asymmetrical, I always have a hard time walking away from the bouquet and calling it "done". I fuss and fuss over them and end up spending hours making sure I put the right flowers in the right place.

Melanie was a very easy bride to work with and knew exactly what she wanted. Everything was very fresh and vibrant and very fitting for the new year. Congratulations Melanie and Karl!

It seems as though I have been doing a lot of "purple" inspired weddings lately...must be in season! I am addicted to the "Picasso" Calla Lily for weddings with this color scheme because it's such a lovely flower! Cream with a deep purple center, and so unique! However; when I am doing a wedding with purple, I love to mix it up! For this wedding I had a bunch of different purple tones, and even used a blue toned Anemone as well as a purple and green Kale. I also used a lot of Orchids to keep the tropical aspect, Roses and Ti leaf. For the aisle Pomander balls, we decided to "recycle" them and use them at the reception site, so I placed them on top of tall cylinders with submerged Dendrobium orchids of Chark Kuan Blue.

It was a beautiful garden wedding and the weather was amazing! I am hoping to post the professional photos soon!

For this wedding I tried to use as much of the Purple Volcano Catalaya Orchid. This Orchid was provided to me by the Groom and his family as they have a farm here on the Big Island where they grow these flowers. I was thrilled to use them because they are so stunning!

This wedding was so much fun mainly because Allison was such a lovely bride to work with! She was so sweet and easy going, and basically let me do my thing! You are amazing Allison and congratulations!
Allison wanted all yellow flowers with hints of brown, so I used some tropicals, Yellow Cymbidium Orchids, and also the Yellow Oncidium "Popcorn" Orchids. I also added the Yellow Calla Lilies and curled the Yellow Cymbidiums around a copper colored wire to add more of a modern feel. The vases were then wrapped with chocolate brown ribbon.
For the ceremony site, I created yellow pomander balls with Yellow Button Mums and tied them with a cream ribbon. I then lightly sprinkled the aisle with petals; I didn't want to overdue it because the view was so incredible!

For Allison's bouquet I used White Freesia, Cream Garden roses, Gardenia and hints of Tuberose.

Jill, the bride, was inspired by Preston Bailey's "Sea Mist" collection. I was a little daunted at first because Preston Bailey's work is impeccable, but I was up to the challenge non-the-less!

Since the "theme" of the wedding was all white with hints of turquoise, I ordered all white florals for the centerpieces and bouquets, which included Vendela cream roses, Polar Star white roses, Viviane white spray roses, White Hydrangea, freesia, Asiatic Lily's, French Tulips, Tuberose and White Cymbidium orchids.

At first I was going to do the bouquet in all white roses with crystal embellishments, but once I smelled the freesia I knew I had to incorporate it. I had also done some shopping at our local farmers market and happened upon some gorgeous Gardenia's, which I knew I couldn't pass up and they were perfect for Jill's bouquet!

For the Boutonnieres, I decided to embellish them with hints of bear grass and a silver wire wrap to match the theme.

It is inevitable that something at some point during a wedding will go wrong. It's not always something that is noticeable, but it is always to be expected. For me, my dilemma was trying to make sure my cylinders supporting the rose arrangements would stay put on the tables.I had not anticipated the unevenness of the grass which made the tables a little off balance and my arrangements a little wobbly. I was just imagining, to my horror, one of my cylinders full of water and topped with dozens of roses falling over on a guest in the middle of a toast. Not a good image in my head moments before the guests were to arrive! What was I to do? There are always little fires we are called upon to extinguish as coordinators/designers and this one almost had me stumped...what would Preston Bailey have thought of me then? To my surprise, my source of "water" came from Jill's wedding planner who had two tall cylinders with a wider bottom base, which I was able to use in lieu of mine. What a relief! There is always a solution and this one came just in time!

This wedding was such a fun event to design! Jamie, the bride, was very sweet and easy to work with. She wanted something simple, colorful and budget friendly which was accomplished by using black river rocks scattered down the tables, mixed with varying sized cylinders with white dendrobium orchids, and suspended pink cymbidium orchids. The bride and bridesmaids bouquets included fuchsia and orange mokara orchids, pink torch ginger and burgundy mini cymbidium orchids.
